Our Approach To Verifications

Not all companies take the same approach to completing verifications. At Orange Tree, an attempt is not valid until we have reached a primary source (the best source of information). You should explore the number of attempts that will be made and inquire about what constitutes a valid attempt.

Education Verification

Orange Tree’s education verification confirms the certificate, degree, diploma (or GED) obtained. In addition, attendance dates, graduation date and major (or field of study) may be verified. We will make at least three valid attempts over a minimum of three business days.

Employment Verification

When completing an employment verification, Orange Tree will verify employment dates and position or title provided. While conducting this background check service, Orange Tree will make at least three valid attempts over a minimum of three business days.

Before making an employment decision, you may want to gather perspective from another party who has had professional experience with the candidate e.g. former boss, colleague, etc.

For our professional reference verification service, Orange Tree will contact former co-workers, supervisors, and colleagues that have been provided by the applicant. Our highest success rates occur via email. If preferred, we can conduct the reference check via phone.

Professional License Verification

Transportation (DOT) Employment Verification

The DOT/Transportation Employment Verification services verify information required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) part 391 for driving positions and Department of Transportation (DOT) 49 CFR part 40 for safety-sensitive positions. These background check services require special hand-signed authorization/release forms from each former employer. The forms confirm prior driving history and previous drug and alcohol testing results.
